Dr. Hakimzadeh grew up in West Vancouver, British Colombia. He attended Simon Fraser University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He then moved to Boston Massachusetts to study Optometry at the New England College of Optometry. After completing his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 1995, he moved back to Vancouver and began to practice in North Vancouver.
During his internships, he completed clinical rotations in pediatric and vision therapy specialties at the New England Eye Institute, as well as ocular pathology at the Portland Veterans Administration Hospital and Boston’s South End Community Health Clinic. Dr. Hakimzadeh has a special interest in ocular diseases, pediatric care and cataract and laser refractive surgery pre and post op care as well as soft and RGP contact lenses.
In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, golf, skiing and spending time with his family.
Dr. Afsoon Takrimi
Dr. Takrimi grew up in Vancouver and received her Bachelors of Science majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology from Simon Fraser University and her Doctorate of Optometry from New England College of Optometry, Boston, Massachusetts in 2015. She is a member of British Columbia Doctors of Optometry and is fully licensed in Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well.
Her clinical rotations included specialty contact lenses, and ocular disease at Boston Medical center, ocular disease at East Boston Health Center, and pediatric and contact lens specialties at the New England Eye Institute. Dr. Takrimi has a special interest in ocular diseases, regular and specialty contact lenses, and pediatric care.
Dr. TJ Khanghura
Dr. Khanghura was born and raised here in the Lower Mainland. He went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree of Science at Simon Fraser University. He completed SFU with a Biology Major and Kinesiology Minor, all with honors. Dr. Khanghura received his Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University, Oregon in 2005. During his time at Pacific University he rotated through Veteran’s Affair Hospital in Tacoma and acquired extensive experience dealing with Ocular Disease.
He returned home to the Lower Mainland and has been practicing locally since. Dr. Khanghura practices all scopes of optometry with a specialized interest in Ocular Disease.
In his spare time, you can find Dr. Khanghura being active with his kids or the local soccer team.
Dr. Roya Elahi
Dr. Elahi, grew up in West Vancouver and received her bachelor of science from University of British Columbia and her Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 2016. While in Pennsylvania, she completed an internship at the eye Institute of Pennsylvania College of optometry. During her externship, she completed clinical rotations at the laser eye center in California, as well as ocular disease at the Boston VA medical center.
She is a member of British Columbia Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of optometrists. She has special interest in ocular disease management, contact lenses fitting, pre- and postoperative care of cataract and refractive surgeries.
In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, swimming and spending time with her family.
